The Perfect Pair by sgtgarand The Perfect Pair by sgtgarand
This is my 1955 M1 Garand, by Springfield Armory, as well as my 1911, by Rock Island Armory. (Remington Rand grips and arched mainspring housing were added)

I purchased the Garand from the CMP back in '08. The stock is one newly manufactured with a CMP cartouche under the grip. This week I decided to strip it down and refinish it with dark walnut stain and 3 coats of tung oil. Got it all back together and greased up today and decided to take a nice picture of it.

That .45 looks like it was  just pulled from the factory! You've done an excellent job maintaining your firearms!

The M1 Garand will always remind me of the game "Vietcong"
How much hours I've wasted with that gun... (wasted in a good way)

Looks very nice-at first I thought it was an M14 but when I saw the M1 Garand clip, I figured it was an M1.

The M1 garand is such a great rifle. Knowing several people that where in WW2 and carried it. They all can't say enough good things about it.
